The Assistant Center Store Manager ensures that our customers’ needs are met and exceeded through effective management of the assigned area. This position oversees front‑end operations and staff in the absence of the Store Manager and Assistant Store Manager. The manager will rotate responsibility among the following areas.
Assigned Areas- Front‑End – Oversees front‑end staff (cashiers and clerk helpers) and operations, including effective resource scheduling for productivity and customer service level optimization, parking lot operations, and store balancing.
- Night Crew – Oversees overall center‑store operations; accountable for productivity standards, night receiving, facility security, shrink management, and readiness for the next day’s opening.
- Frozen/Dairy/Deli – Accountable for productivity, freshness, stocking standards, planner execution, stock conditions, and shrink management.
- Evening – Oversees center‑store merchandising, product and conditions, including back‑room, steel, and shelving.
The Assistant Center Store Manager supervises and trains associates to promote a culture reflective of Food Maxx’s mission statement and winning behaviors. He/she manages performance and productivity of the assigned area to ensure standards are met.
Key Responsibilities And Accountabilities- Provides customers with a remarkable shopping experience by demonstrating, training, and holding store associates accountable for excellent customer service.
- Contributes to positive gross profit goals through effective management of price integrity, shrink control activities, ordering, and product management.
- Directly leads associates in the assigned area with focus on accountability and achieving high levels of business performance outcomes.
- Develops and trains associates, completes supervision reports, and fosters a collaborative working environment.
- Effectively utilizes resources to improve productivity, flexibility, and efficiencies of labor, and the quality of the shopping experience in the assigned area.
- Oversees cold chain, manages shrink, and ensures price integrity for the assigned area.
- Oversees the store for cleanliness and sanitation compliance.
- Maintains schematic integrity within stocking expectations, shelf conditions, and display maintenance.
- Responsible for code‑date rotation and fresh image management.
- Oversees facility for building security and hazardous waste processing.
- Oversees front‑end operations and staff when the store is open and the Store Manager and Assistant Store Manager are not on site.
- Responsible for night receiving and cashier balancing functions.
- Oversees ordering and inventory processes.
- Occasionally in charge of maintaining total store operations in the absence of store management.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Hiring pay range: $28.67 – $28.67 per hour.
