Lighting Quotations Specialist

We're looking for a Lighting Quotations Specialist to join our Lighting team with a preferred location in Hayward, CA, and flexibility to work from one of our other ALCAL branch locations, where you'll help customers bring their lighting projects to life. From preparing competitive quotations and managing quote revisions to collaborating with sales, manufacturers, and agency partners, you'll play a key role in delivering exceptional service and building lasting customer relationships.

As a Lighting Quotations Specialist, you are responsible for handling our customer's needs from request for quote to quoting the customer. This includes fielding calls and emails for requests, changes, and re-bids. Communication with customers, salespeople, and Manufacture Reps is critical for this role. This position is responsible for problem solving, organization, product knowledge, and knowledge about new products. Additional responsibilities include being able to provide support to Lighting Project Managers and Sales when needed, work with customers to build relationships, and ensure Alameda Electrical Distributors is the go-to for their Lighting needs.

• Required to request manufacturer quotations, track progress of quote, and enter all data into Cahill and Job Management to finalize customer quotation in a timely manner.
• Must review quote for accuracy and completeness to ensure profitability for Alameda Electrical Distributors prior to issuing.
• Must be cognizant of all necessary components required to complete the requested bill of material.
• Partner with salespeople and manager to determine margin based on quotation details, ensure customer satisfaction, and promote future business.
• Work with internal/external stakeholders, manufacturers, and lighting agencies to obtain information for customer projects.
• Answers phone calls and email related to respective projects, ensuring that the messages are transcribed correctly and whether a follow-up action is necessary.
• Review and analyze reports to inform stakeholders, manage business flow, diagnose quotation problems, and advise implications of given data.
• Responsible for product knowledge, understanding current CA T20/T24 standards, old technologies, new technologies, and new vendor products to help advise customers and stakeholders.
• Maintaining an amicable relationship with all Lighting Reps to ensure AED receives a competitive discount.
• Able to provide back up to Lighting Project Managers and sales, as needed.

• Lighting product and electrical distribution experience preferred.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to identify, investigate, and resolve discrepancies proactively.

• Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and collaboratively in a team environment.

• Minimum 2+ years of experience working as a full-time quotation's specialist, administrative assistant, project assistant, or a similar role is preferred.
• Knowledge of Solar Eclipse, Job Management, and Cahill preferred.
