About the Job:

Ryde Trans in San Leandro is seeking a customer-focused individual to join our team as a Dispatcher! As a Dispatcher, you'll be responsible for ensuring all routes are covered and drivers receive timely instructions and support throughout the day. You'll also serve as a key point of contact, responding to inquiries from both customers and the internal team.

Work Schedule:

This position operates within a 7‑day‑a‑week environment. Team members work five (5) days per week in 8‑hour shifts. Our hours of operation span from 2:30 AM to Midnight, with occasional extensions up to 1:00 AM depending on business needs.

Job Responsibilities:

Responds to customer inquiries and needs in a timely manner. Serves as intake person for customer complaints/commendations.

Resolves on the road problems

Processes trip reassignments, route openings, insertions, extensions, etc. and issue resolutions

Authorizes trips outside of regular services when necessary

Schedule alternative rides for passengers to resolve service issues

Uses various computer systems to retrieve schedule information as well as other pertinent information. Uses reference material to quickly and accurately determine the best method to assist client.

Provides excellent customer service to our clients, passengers and drivers

Completes a variety of daily reports and clerical duties including but not limited to accident reports and incident reports.

Answers and directs business calls to appropriate personnel

Monitor drivers to minimize non-revenue payroll hours.

Communicate route problems to appropriate personnel for review.

Comply with all safety regulations.

Window dispatch functions including but not limited to: collect and reconcile fares, reconcile lunch breaks, etc., during driver check out process

May periodically be required to operate a revenue service vehicle

Must have a valid Class C License for at least three years.

Knowledge of two-way radio/Nextel/Walkie talkie or push to talk system.

Preferably an Associate's or equivalent experience.

Scheduling software.

Microsoft office skills.

Para transit or fixed route experience as a dispatcher preferred.

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to work a flexible schedule as needed including nights, evenings and  able to move about the office and between floors; utilize standard office equipment and access filing system/cabinets.

The employee is generally subjected to long periods spent sitting, driving, typing, or looking at a computer screen.
