Job Description & How to Apply Below

Rework Gear is a San Francisco-based company crafting highly functional and versatile urban gear with a focus on practicality and thoughtful design. Founded by siblings from Singapore, our products reflect a pragmatic and goal-oriented approach to design. We aim to redefine the industry by creating purposeful and user-centric gear without over engineering. We have been a two-person team, consisting of our Co-Founders, since day one.

But as our growth accelerates, we are now looking to expand our team, starting with the role that is most integral to the backbone of our business.

At Rework, we are always looking to grow professionally and personally. If you are like-minded in wanting to explore all kinds of roles and go beyond the responsibilities of this role, we welcome that and we'll be more than happy to give you space to dabble in your areas of interest.

Role Description

In this role, you will be a part-time, on-site Fulfillment Associate based in our Hayward warehouse. Our Co-Founders, Jia and Zhiyu, are incredibly hands on and will be in close collaboration and a source of support for this role, especially as you ease into it. We are looking for a team player who is attentive to detail, organized, and punctual. Being able to carve out regular shifts between Monday-Friday is important in this role.

As Rework continues to grow, we are hoping that this role can grow into a full‑time position in Sales Operations or E-commerce Operations, eventually being analytics heavy and owning our day‑to‑day operational processes.

Your main responsibilities in this role will include processing orders and generating labels based on package dimensions, packing and preparing orders for shipment, and processing and restocking returns. You will also own the task of sorting and organizing inventory, and managing inventory accuracy. As mentioned, you will collaborate closely with our Co-Founders to ensure daily productivity goals are met and orders are dispatched in an accurate and timely manner.

What

You'll Do
  • Manage end‑to‑end process order fulfillment, starting with setting up package dimensions and purchasing labels for customer orders.
  • Perform order picking and packing whilst ensuring accurate fulfillment of customer orders.
  • Collaborate with team members to meet daily productivity goals and ensure timely order fulfillment.
  • Own the returns process including checking and restocking returns, and flagging units that are not eligible for restocking.
  • Manage packaging inventory, including alerting team members when supplies are low.
  • Support the maintenance of the warehouse including organizing stock for efficient storage and tidying the warehouse.
Role Requirements
  • Ability to work independently, time‑manage effectively, and operate with a high degree of ownership.
  • Must be able to commit to working at least 4 days a week from Monday-Friday and around 15‑20 hours a week
    .
  • Must commit to working on Mondays and Fridays in order to keep up with excess orders from the weekends.
  • Shifts will be 3‑4 hours each and hours are flexible but must remain consistent from week to week.
  • Comfortable lifting and moving cartons up to 35 lbs when required.
Nice to Haves
  • Previous experience in warehouse distribution or logistics is preferred.
  • Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) and RF scanners for inventory control is desired.
  • Mechanical knowledge or experience with materials handling equipment such as pallet jacks and forklifts is a plus.
  • Prior supervisory experience in a warehouse setting is advantageous but not required.
  • $20/hr for 15‑20 hours/week
  • Since this is a hands‑on role to an extent, you will be eligible for Workers' Compensation in the rare event that it is necessary.

This would be our first time hiring for a role and we are so excited to welcome you to our small team. The most important criteria for this role is your availability, and if you do not possess any of the nice‑to‑have qualities, we still encourage you to apply if you have interest. As a small and growing team, this role may evolve over time, and your contributions will have a direct impact on how we operate and grow.

If you enjoy being part of a small team and taking ownership of your work, we’d love to hear from you.
