Description

The Accounts Receivable Clerk is responsible for the receipt and accounting of funds being paid to the organization. This role also serves as an auditor, ensuring that invoices are accurate and that proper accounting procedures are followed to account for the receipt of payment for goods and services completed by the organization.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty and responsibility satisfactorily.

  • Researches and solves payment discrepancies
  • Verifying insurance and pre-certifications
  • Applies Customer Payments
  • Processes credit card payments and credits.
  • Makes adjustments to accounts as needed.
  • Prepares weekly manual deposits.
  • Prepares weekly reports for accountants.
  • All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Prior experience in Billing, Bookkeeping, or Accounting role is preferred.
  • Must be proficient in the use of all Microsoft Office products and have familiarity and basic working knowledge of facility specific information systems that are applicable to the area of assignment.
  • Competent keyboard skills to produce accurate and well-presented reports are required.
  • The ability to handle sensitive documents or other confidential information is critical.

Qualifications

Education Required

High School or better.

Preferred

Associates or better in Accounting or related field.

Experience Required

Must be proficient in Microsoft Office suite.

2 years:

Prior professional experience in a Billing, Bookkeeping, Collections, or other accounting-relevant role is required.

Preferred

Experience in Medicare/Medicaid billing is preferred.
