This position is located off campus in Hazard, KY and directly supports the College of Dentistry's strategic plan to exceed patient and customer expectations and achieve the university’s service goals.

The person will provide direct patient care including prophylaxis, polishing, periodontal maintenance, scaling and root planning, patient assessment of hard and soft tissues, periodontal exams, application of fluoride foam, varnish and sealants as ordered by the dentist, home‑care assessment and oral health instructions. Clinical support tasks include disinfection, set‑up and breakdown of the clinical operator, instrument sharpening, equipment maintenance, and preparation and transport of instruments for sterilization.

Patient medical histories and medications will be updated, vital signs taken at each visit, and treatment documented and entered into the clinical patient management software. Patients will be scheduled for return appointments.

• Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH) in the state of Kentucky at time of hire.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• High school diploma or equivalent (AS education required).
• No prior experience required.

Physical requirement: constant repetitive motion.

Shift: Monday to Friday day shift.
