Adjunct-Medical Information Technology

Job Summary

Hazard Community and Technical College invites applications for part-time adjunct faculty in Medical Coding. This position is considered a temporary, part-time position used to fill online, hybrid and in-person courses.

• Plan and carry out instruction, instructional activities, and prepare learning materials (including OER) for online, hybrid and in-person delivery utilizing the Blackboard LMS.
• Provide instruction to students in the discipline areas as mentioned above or other related topics.
• Prepare lesson plans (as needed), maintain records and reports on student attainment, and monitor attendance/activity and progress.
• Utilize approved online course templates and syllabus format, maintain classroom order and discipline, complete course/program assessments, early alert reports/flags, course evaluation, grading reports, and other related activities/reporting.
• Complete required college training including annual mandatory training related to college policies, online learning training, quality assurance training, LMS training and other related training, as needed.

• AAS degree in Health Information Technology, AA or AS or AAS in allied health or related field.
• Medical coding certification and 2-3 years' experience in the coding field.
