Retail & Store Manager, Operations Manager
Position Summary
Lead, develop, and manage store teams, providing coaching, training, and guidance to achieve high performance. Oversee customer service excellence, financial results, merchandising, compliance, and employee development while upholding Walmart’s values and fostering a culture of belonging and integrity.
Responsibilities- Teach, train, and coach associates to enable effective store operations and customer experiences.
- Lead and implement company change initiatives, communicating expectations and business objectives to teams.
- Model exceptional customer service using the One Best Way (OBW) service model and manage related initiatives.
- Drive financial performance: review PL statements, manage budgeting, forecasting, and control expenses in designated areas.
- Ensure effective merchandise presentation, seasonal transitions, inventory flow, and operational processes.
- Improve operations by developing and executing action plans to reduce shrink, mitigate risks, and achieve sales and profit goals.
- Supervise hourly associates: hire, train, mentor, assign duties, set expectations, recognize achievements, and promote a belonging mindset.
- Coordinate job‑related activities with stakeholders, building accountability and measuring results.
- Ensure policy compliance and support Walmart’s mission, values, and ethical standards, including the Open Door Policy.
- Build high‑performing teams, respect individual differences, and create an inclusive workplace.
- Act with integrity, uphold ethical standards, and support Walmart’s regenerative company goals.
- Serve customers and members, prioritize the customer experience, and use data analytics to balance short‑ and long‑term priorities.
- Strive for excellence by encouraging continuous improvement, embracing new technologies, and supporting change.
- 2 years of college, OR 1 year of retail experience and 1 year of supervisory experience, OR 2 years of general work experience and 1 year of supervisory experience.
- Successful completion of required background checks and training for firearms, ammunition, or other regulatory requirements.
- Completion of all mandatory job‑required trainings and assessments (e.g., Academy trainings, Open Door trainings).
- Bachelor of Science in Business Management and Leadership (Live Better U, Bellevue University).
- Certificate of Completion in People and Business Leadership (Live Better U, Bellevue University).
- General work experience supervising 5 or more direct reports, including performance management, mentoring, hiring, and firing responsibilities.
- Competitive salary ($65,000.00–$) plus performance bonuses.
