Job Details
We are seeking a travel nurse RN PCU - Progressive Care Unit for a 13‑week travel assignment in Hazard, Kentucky. As part of the Fusion Medical Staffing team, you will provide care to patients transitioning from intensive care to medical‑surgical units, enjoy competitive pay, comprehensive benefits, and support from a dedicated clinical team.

- Required
: - One year of recent experience as a Stepdown RN.
- Current valid RN license compliant with state regulations.
- Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC).
- Current ACLS certification (AHA/ARC).
- Experience in a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) setting preferred.
- Preferred
: PCCN certification, NIHSS certification, or other relevant certifications.
- Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms, vital signs, and telemetry data; respond to abnormalities.
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments per approved nursing protocols, focusing on cardiac care.
- Prepare equipment and assist physicians during cardiac procedures and examinations.
- Maintain awareness of patient comfort and safety needs while monitoring telemetry patients.
- Document nursing history and physical assessment for assigned telemetry patients.
- Develop and implement patient education plans concerning cardiac health and lifestyle changes.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive care.
- Respond to life‑saving situations based on cardiac‑emergency protocols.
- Adhere to hospital safety protocols, infection control guidelines, and regulatory standards.
- Perform additional duties as assigned within scope of practice.
- Critical thinking, excellent service orientation, and strong interpersonal communication.
- Proficiency in written and spoken English.
- PC skills to read and follow written and verbal instructions.
- Physical abilities: move equipment up to 100 lb, push, pull, bend, and remain stationary as needed.
- Interpersonal skills: collaborate effectively with staff and maintain professionalism.
- Technical skills: fine manipulation for procedures and equipment use.
- Mental resilience to handle pressure, irregular schedules, and detail orientation.
- Sensory requirement: adequate visual acuity and communication capability.
