Position: SRNA - State Registered Nurse Aide (New rate starting at $16.50/hour)

Job Summary

The Certified Nurse Aide (SRNA or CNA) is responsible for delivering routine nursing care to residents under the direction of the charge nurse on duty. The SRNA will also provide a safe and dignified environment for all assigned residents in accordance with the facility's policies and procedures.

Responsibilities
  • Provide individualized attention to residents to support physical, mental, and psychosocial well-being.
  • Know and support individualized care plans; communicate observations to charge nurses and care planning staff.
  • Assist with grooming, bathing, oral hygiene, feeding, incontinent care, toileting, prosthetic care, transferring, ambulation, range of motion, and related needs per care requirements.
  • Maintain resident comfort, privacy, and dignity; interact warmly to promote a caring environment.
  • Uphold residents' rights, report any abuse or rights violations promptly to charge or administrative staff.
  • Maintain a safe, neat, and clean environment; report environmental deficiencies to the charge nurse.
  • Monitor residents for changes in condition or behavior and report to licensed nursing personnel.
  • Support skin integrity to prevent ulcers by repositioning immobile residents and applying moisturizers as appropriate.
  • Respond promptly to call bells and perform tasks assigned by the charge nurse, including vital signs, weights, topical applications, and specimen collection.
  • Assist with orientation of residents and families on admission and during transfers.
  • Use proper body mechanics and equipment to lift, move, and transport residents safely.
  • Escort residents to appointments and participate in activities and events as directed.
  • Follow policies for supplies, linen usage, and charge procedures for resident items.
  • Complete CNA records documenting care provided in accordance with department policies.
  • Follow safety and infection control procedures, including hand hygiene and appropriate use/disposal of materials.
  • Conduct rounds across the unit and transport residents as needed; promote a homelike environment.
  • Respond to inquiries from residents, visitors, and staff within established time frames and policies.

  • Active and valid SRNA certification with the Kentucky Board of Nursing OR graduation from an approved Nurse Aide Training program and successful completion of state-approved competency evaluation within 120 days from date of hire.
