Fusion Medical Staffing‑Nursing is seeking a travel nurse RN Labor and Delivery for a 13‑week assignment in Hazard, Kentucky. The position requires a skilled Labor and Delivery RN with one year of recent experience, valid RN license, current BLS and NRP certification, and effective communication skills.

• One year of recent experience as a Labor and Delivery RN
• Valid RN license in compliance with state regulations
• Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC)
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) Certification

• AWHONN Fetal Monitoring Certification
• STABLE and ACLS Certifications (AHA / ARC)
• Other certifications and licenses may be required for this position

• Communicate labor and delivery procedures to patients and families, providing reassurance and addressing concerns
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments
• Prepare equipment and aid physician during labor, delivery, and examination
• Provide immediate postpartum care, including assessment and stabilization of mother and newborn
• Educate patients and families on postpartum recovery, breastfeeding, and newborn care
• Collaborate with obstetricians, anesthesiologists, neonatologists, and other team members
• Respond to obstetric emergencies using evidence‑based protocols
• Document patient care, assessments, and interventions accurately
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives
• Perform fetal monitoring and interpret results
• Assist in cesarean sections and other obstetric procedures
• Comply with all regulatory standards, including hospital policies, state laws, and federal guidelines
• Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of labor and delivery nursing

• Critical thinking, service excellence, and good interpersonal communication skills
• Ability to read, write, and communicate in English
• Ability to read/comprehend written instructions, follow verbal instructions, and proficiency in PC skills
• Physical abilities: remain in stationary position, move equipment (50-100lbs), push, pull, bend
• Interpersonal skills: work effectively with a variety of personnel
• Technical skills: fine manipulation, push/pull, move equipment during procedures
• Mental requirements: cope with frequent public contact, meet deadlines under pressure, work with or without supervision, handle irregular schedules, maintain focus to detail
