The Eastern Kentucky Veterans Center (EKVC) is a 120-bed long-term care facility providing skilled nursing andrehabilitative care exclusively to Kentucky’s Veterans. Proudly operated by the Kentucky Department of Veterans Affairs, EKVC was built with a single purpose, to honor and care for those who have served ournation.
We are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join our nursing team. This position provides professional nursing care to our Veteran residents while working closely with physicians,nursing staff, and other members of the interdisciplinary team to meet each resident’s individual needs.
Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
- Assess resident needs and plan, implement, and evaluate individualized nursing care
- Provide direct professional nursing care to Veteran residents
- Monitor resident conditions and promptly identify and report changes or concerns
- Coordinate and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to meet resident care needs
- Provide guidance and direction to nursing support staff in the delivery of resident care
- Maintain clear, accurate, and timely clinical documentation
- Communicate clinical issues and resident updates to appropriate personnel
- Respond to emergency situations and provide appropriate nursing interventions
- Participate in staff education and serve as a preceptor during new employee orientation
- Promote a safe, supportive, and resident-centered care environment
- Perform other related duties as assigned

Probationary Period
This job has an initial and promotional probationary period of 6 months, except as provided in KRS 18A.111.
