Cath/Interventional Radiology Technologist
Location: Hazel Crest, IL 60429
Contract Type: Contractor (Crisis Rate)
Hours: 40 hrs/week | Four 10-hr Day Shifts
Shift: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM
Date Range: Dec 22, 2025 – Mar 21, 2026
Onsite Only
On-Call Requirements:
- 1–2 nights per week
- 1 weekend per month (Fri 17:30 – Mon 07:00)
- 30-minute response time
Holidays: 1 major holiday required

The Cath/Interventional Radiology Technologist supports advanced cardiovascular, electrophysiology, and peripheral vascular procedures within the Interventional Platform. This role scrubs into procedures, operates imaging equipment, maintains sterile technique, and collaborates with a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality care in a fast‑paced procedural environment.

PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Procedural Support- Scrub into cardiac, peripheral vascular, electrophysiology, and interventional radiology procedures.
- Assist procedural physicians with device prep, equipment setup, and sterile technique throughout interventions.
- Operate and troubleshoot imaging systems during cases, including:
- Philips Azurion imaging platform
- Carto EP ablation systems
- PFA ablation equipment
- IVUS/FFR
- EKOS, Shockwave, CSI, IABP, Temp pacer
- MERGE Hemo
- Maintain accurate radiation safety practices and adhere to ALARA guidelines.
- Support emergent cases such as STEMI activations and urgent peripheral interventions.
- Participate in procedures involving:
- Coronary catheterization
- Peripheral catheterization (including AAA repairs)
- EP studies, ablations, and device implantations
- Collaborate with RNs, technologists, and leadership to maintain efficient daily workflow.
- Provide patient prep, positioning, and procedural support under physician direction.
- Document procedural data and patient information in EPIC and department systems.
- Communicate clinical updates and procedural progress clearly with the care team.
- Ensure accurate logging of supplies, implants, and radiation doses.
- Take 1–2 weekday on-call shifts each week plus one full weekend on-call per month.
- Meet 30-minute callback response time.
- Participate in a 6-week scheduling cycle.
- Cover one major holiday during the assignment.
- Attend NEO and a two-day department onboarding.
- Work within a supportive team structure including:
- Manager & Assistant Manager
- 5 Radiology Technologists
- 8 RNs
- Minimum 2 years of cath lab, EP lab, or interventional radiology experience
- IL Radiologic Technologist License
- ACLS certification
- Proficiency with sterile technique and procedural workflows
- Competence in operating fluoroscopy and lab-specific imaging equipment
