Job Summary:
Join the dynamic team at Advocate South Suburban Hospital as a Cath IR Rad Tech. This role offers an excellent opportunity to work in a state-of-the-art facility, supporting vascular and cardiac interventions, including electrophysiology and interventional radiology procedures. If you have at least 2 years of experience and are comfortable scrubbed into high-acuity procedures, we want to hear from you!
Key Responsibilities:
- Support and operate advanced imaging equipment such as Philips Azurion and related department-specific tools for cardiac and peripheral procedures.
- Assist procedural physicians by maintaining sterile technique and supporting intra-procedure workflows.
- Support complex electrophysiology (EP) and interventional radiology (IR) procedures, including ablations, device implants, and diagnostic studies.
- Ensure radiation safety standards are upheld at all times.
- Collaborate with a team comprising radiology technologists, RNs, and department managers to deliver exceptional patient care.
- Participate in weekend and on-call rotations, providing coverage as scheduled.
- Maintain accurate documentation within the EPIC EMR system.
Certifications & Licenses:
Required:
IL Radiology Technologist License
Certifications:
BLS and ACLS (American Heart Association certified)- Additional certifications such as NIHSS or other specialty certifications are a plus.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in electrophysiology (EP), interventional radiology (IR), or comparable cardiac catheterization procedures.
- Ability to scrub into complex procedures with procedural physicians, operate imaging and procedural equipment, and support intra-procedure workflows.
- Strong understanding of sterile techniques, radiation safety, and Cath/EP/IR supplies and equipment.
- Proficient in supporting high-acuity cardiac and vascular procedures, including arrhythmia studies, ablations, device implants, and peripheral interventions.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Flexibility to participate in weekend on-call (1 weekend/month), after-hours shifts, and holiday coverage.
Preferred Education & Experience:
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Radiologic Technology, Cardiac Technology, or related healthcare field.
- Prior experience working with Philips Azurion imaging systems, Carto EP Ablations, PFA Ablations, and other specialized interventional equipment.
- Experience working in a Level II Trauma Center or similar high-volume hospital environment.
- Familiarity with EMR systems, preferably EPIC.

Blue (Hospital Provided) - Flexible scheduling cycle, typically 6 weeks at a time.
