Responsibilities
- Lead high-performing quality team. Monitors workload to assess staffing needs. Participates in hiring, assessing, and disciplining employees.
- Directs workers engaged in measuring and testing product and tabulating data concerning materials, product, process quality and reliability.
- Interprets engineering drawings, schematic diagrams, or formulas and confers with management or engineering staff to determine quality and reliability requirements.
- Analyzes, evaluates and presents information such as production capabilities, manufacturing problems and design & development of new products for consideration by other members of the MEC team.
- Confers with engineers about quality verification technique or new products design and manufactured products in the market to rectify problems.
- Develops and implements methods and procedures for disposition of discrepant material and devises methods to assess cost and responsibility.
- Reviews technical problems and procedures of assigned departments and recommends solutions to problems or changes in procedures.
- Recommends modifications of existing quality or production standards to achieve optimum quality within limits of current technology.
- Follows and ensures team follows all safety procedures and regulations, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required. Identifies and reports potential safety hazards.
- Participates in other projects as assigned.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and diagrams.
- Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Proficiency with diagnostic equipment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong leadership and organizational skills.
- Associate’s degree in relevant field or equivalent education and experience.
- Three years experience in quality, engineering, or related field.
- Manufacturing experience highly preferred.
