MSG is expanding our Transportation Team in Michigan. The Senior Roadway Engineer & Detroit Metro Transportation Lead will take charge of roadway and utility design projects in a fully 3D digital environment. This role offers supervisory responsibilities, mentorship opportunities and significant professional growth.

• Prepare roadway design plans and 3D models for local agency projects.
• Perform and review design calculations to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Prepare design packages for milestone client submittals, including estimates, special provisions and RID packages.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior staff, fostering a collaborative and high‑performing team.
• Support MDOT projects as needed, applying similar expertise and leadership.
• Oversee and manage a team of seven designers, ensuring successful project delivery and professional development.

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering.
• 12‑15 years’ experience working with MDOT transportation and local agencies.
• Michigan PE with the ability to become registered in other states.
• Proficiency in Open Roads ORD; knowledge of AutoCAD/Civil 3D is a plus.
• Experience working as a PM.
• Desire and ability to manage a team.
