Plant Controller
Are you ready to take ownership of financial leadership in a manufacturing environment? Silgan Closures is seeking a full-time Plant Controller to serve as a strategic business partner driving operational and financial success at our Hazleton, PA facility.
As the Plant Controller, you will drive plant-level financial operations, cost accounting, and reporting while partnering closely with operations to optimize performance, control costs, and improve profitability.

Key Responsibilities:
- Accounting and Financial Management
- Lead all plant accounting functions including cost accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, and variance analysis
- Prepare and analyze monthly financial results, forecasts, and strategic plans in alignment with corporate standards
- Ensure financial accuracy, compliance, and integrity in accordance with GAAP
- Cost Accounting and Manufacturing Finance
- Develop and maintain standard costs, bills of materials, and inventory valuation
- Analyze labor, material, overhead, and production variances within a manufacturing environment
- Monitor manufacturing performance through plant walkthroughs and operational collaboration
- Inventory and Controls
- Oversee physical inventory processes, cycle counts, and monthly reconciliations
- Identify and manage excess and obsolete inventory
- Ensure compliance with SOX internal controls and safeguard company assets
- Operational Partnership
- Partner with plant team to improve manufacturing efficiency and cost performance
- Participate in production meetings and provide financial insights to support decision-making
- Support continuous improvement initiatives related to operational and financial performance
- Team Leadership
- Oversee and develop front office and accounting staff
- Drive accountability, accuracy, and process improvement across plant financial operations
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
- 3 years of cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and manufacturing finance principles
- Experience with ERP systems such as JD Edwards or similar platforms
- Advanced Excel skills with the ability to build and analyze complex spreadsheets
- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
