Job Duties
  • Straightens and picks up trash in restrooms, sinks, showers, toilets, plumbing fixtures, mirrors, and surfaces, and replenishes soap and paper products.
  • Performs terminal cleaning procedures of patient rooms and prepares the room for new occupants and follows isolation procedures in isolation rooms.
  • Vacuums carpets, sweeps and mops floors on a routine basis.
  • Dusts vents and polishes all furniture in common areas and residents' rooms daily.
  • Cleans and polishes fire extinguishers and ice machines weekly.
  • Coordinates housekeeping services with other departments.
  • Cleans all bathrooms and toilet bowls daily.
  • Presents a neat appearance in appropriate dress as required by position, department, and hospital policy.
  • Moves furniture and other heavy objects as required.
Minimum Qualifications
  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Less than 1 year of experience working as housing aide
  • Ability to interpret and adhere to union policies and procedures.
  • Ability to adhere to safety procedures and protocols.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to maintain a safe and clean environment at all times.
  • Knowledge of methods of cleaning guest rooms and operation of laundry services.
