Job Description

The Quality and Food Safety Manager is responsible for managing the site quality and food safety program for our Headland, AL peanut processing facility. The plant operates twenty‑four hours a day, seven days a week. This position reports to the Regional Quality & Food Safety Manager.

Essential Job Functions
  • Provides leadership, support, and guidance to ensure that Food Safety/Quality requirements are met.
  • Manages, plans, implements, and continuously improves the Food Safety/Quality divisional programs.
  • Enforces Quality goals and KPIs, maintains the Food Safety plan, and supports Operations for continuous improvement.
  • Ensures processes and systems are adequate to implement, achieve, and maintain 3rd‑party certifications (e.g., GMP+, SQF) and FDA compliance (21 CFR 507 and/or 21 CFR 117).
  • Oversees usage of and provides support for information technology systems (e.g., Policy Tech, APeCS, GEMINI).
  • Manages the Food Safety/Quality Team – maintenance of laboratory equipment.
  • Works and communicates with the Plant Manager (dotted line reporting) and Superintendent on any quality problems or issues that arise.
  • Exhibits excellent communication, problem‑solving, and good decision‑making skills.
  • Motivates direct reports and demonstrates leadership qualities to all plant personnel.
  • Actively participates in and contributes to performance excellence implementation.
Job Qualifications
  • Preferred 4‑year degree or equivalent.
  • 7 years of Food Safety experience in a Food manufacturing and laboratory environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate and interact with all levels of the organization, including senior management, customers, and regulatory officials.

Pay

The pay range for this position is expected to be between: $70,400.00 - $. Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job‑related knowledge, skills and experience. Hourly and salaried non‑exempt employees will also be paid overtime pay when working qualifying overtime hours.

• If hired, employees will be in an "at‑will" position and the Company reserves the right to modify base pay (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.

Salaried Incentive Plan:
The total compensation package for this position will also include an annual bonus.
