Quality and Food Safety Manager

This is a full-time, exempt position. The Quality and Food Safety Manager is responsible for managing the site quality and food safety program for our Headland, AL peanut processing facility and reports to the Plant Manager.

This plant operates twenty‑four hours a day, seven days a week.

• Provides leadership, support, and guidance to ensure that Food Safety/Quality requirements are met.
• Manages, plans, implements, and continuously improves the Food Safety/Quality divisional programs.
• Enforces Quality goals and KPIs, maintains the Food Safety plan, and supports Operations for continuous improvement.
• Ensures processes and systems are adequate to implement, achieve, and maintain third‑party certifications (e.g., GMP+, SQF) and FDA compliance (21 CFR 507/117).
• Oversees the use of and provides support for information technology systems (Policy Tech, APeCS, GEMINI).
• Manages the Food Safety/Quality Team.
• Maintains laboratory equipment.
• Works and communicates with the Plant Manager and Superintendent on quality problems or issues that arise.
• Exhibits excellent communication, problem‑solving, and decision‑making skills.
• Motivates direct reports and demonstrates leadership qualities to all plant personnel.
• Actively participates in and contributes to performance‑excellence implementation.

• Preferred 4‑year degree or equivalent; 7 years of Food Safety experience in a food manufacturing and laboratory environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to communicate with all levels of the organization, including senior management, customers, and regulatory officials.
• Positive leadership attributes to drive employee development and continuous‑improvement initiatives.
• Demonstrated experience in performance‑excellence implementations.

• May be exposed to chemical and food allergens.
• May be required to perform work at heights, climb ladders, stairs, indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions, walk, stand, or sit for extended periods, and wear a respirator as needed.
