Low Voltage NICET Level I Fire Alarm Technician – Fire Alarm Systems
Location:
Montgomery, AL Join Next Level Technician as a NICET Level I Fire Alarm Technician in Montgomery, AL! Earn $20-$25/hr, enjoy weekly pay, benefits, and steady work with a national leader in low voltage staffing.
- Assist with the installation of fire alarm systems and devices in commercial and industrial environments, including pull stations, smoke detectors, horn strobes, and modules
- Pull, terminate, dress, and label fire alarm cable according to project specifications
- Perform basic testing and verification of installed fire alarm wiring and devices
- Read and interpret fire alarm layouts, drawings, and blueprints
- Assist senior technicians with system startups, inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs, while maintaining accurate documentation of work performed
- Work safely on ladders and lifts and support additional low-voltage installations as needed at schools, hospitals, offices, warehouses, and other commercial facilities
- NICET Level I Certification in Fire Alarm Systems (required or actively pursuing certification)
- 1+ year of experience in fire alarm installation, electrical, low voltage, or related construction field
- Basic understanding of NEC and NFPA 72 fire alarm codes and standards
- Ability to read blueprints, floor plans, and wiring diagrams
- Experience with hand and power tools commonly used in low voltage installations
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Reliable transportation and ability to travel to project sites throughout the Montgomery, AL area as needed, with occasional travel to Auburn or Troy during the day only; no overnight stays required.
- OSHA 10, Lift Certification, or other industry certifications are a plus
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. and work in active construction environments
- Basic hand tools and PPE (hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, hi-vis vest, steel-toe boots)
