Location:
Heanor, Derbyshire
Salary: £35,000–£40,000, depending on experience
Working pattern:
Permanent, full-time – approximately 90% office based
An established electrical engineering company specialising in HV installations is seeking an experienced Project Coordinator to join its team in Heanor.
This is a predominantly office-based position where you will take ownership of electrical installation projects involving switch gear, transformers and associated equipment. You will coordinate each project from initial planning through to safe and successful completion, with occasional site visits when required.
Key responsibilities
* Read and interpret electrical and engineering drawings.
* Plan and coordinate labour, materials, equipment and project requirements.
* Coordinate the installation of HV switch gear, transformers and associated electrical equipment.
* Organise site logistics, including the lifting, positioning and installation of equipment.
* Liaise with customers, engineers, site teams and internal departments.
* Coordinate suppliers, subcontractors and the wider supply chain.
* Monitor project progress and ensure work remains on programme.
* Maintain accurate project plans, records and documentation.
* Manage changes and variations to the original project scope.
* Identify potential risks, delays and technical issues, resolving them efficiently.
* Ensure projects are delivered safely, professionally and in accordance with customer requirements.
Candidate requirements
* Previous experience coordinating electrical, engineering or installation projects.
* Good understanding of electrical installations, ideally involving HV equipment, switch gear or transformers.
* Ability to understand technical drawings and project specifications.
* Strong planning, organisation and problem-solving skills.
* Confident communicating with customers, suppliers, subcontractors and site teams.
* Commercial awareness and experience managing project changes or variations.
* Comfortable working independently and taking responsibility for multiple projects.
* Competent with Microsoft Office and project documentation.
* A full UK driving licence is required due to occasional site visits
