Position: English as a Second Language (ESL) General Education Teacher | Heath, Ohio

Job Description

Bachelor’s degree in Education, valid state teaching license or certification, and 1+ years teaching experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Make an impact on students’ learning journeys as an English as a Second Language Teacher in a dynamic part-time contract role. Serving K-12 students, you’ll support emerging English speakers at multiple locations throughout the district, ensuring every learner has the opportunity to succeed academically and personally.

In this flexible position, you’ll travel between different school buildings across the week, offering tailored instruction and guidance that meets each student’s unique needs. You’ll be part of a supportive, collaborative environment where your expertise helps build language proficiency and confidence in students from diverse backgrounds.

Qualifications and Experience
  • Valid certification to teach English as a Second Language in Ohio is required.
  • Prior experience in general education and/or ESL teaching preferred.
  • Ability to work effectively with K-12 students across varying language levels.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Flexibility and adaptability in traveling between sites within the district.
  • Commitment to fostering inclusive, culturally responsive classrooms.
Key Responsibilities
  • Provide English language instruction to multilingual students in both small groups and classroom settings.
  • Collaborate with general education teachers to support student success and develop individualized learning strategies.
  • Assess language proficiency and monitor student progress throughout the school year.
  • Create engaging lesson plans that align with curriculum standards and student language goals.
  • Communicate with parents, staff, and administrators to enhance student outcomes.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate student records.
