Trades ​/ Skilled Labor Technician, Maintenance Technician ​/ Mechanic

Job Summary

Sunbelt Rentals is seeking a Mechanic to perform preventive maintenance, perform diagnostics, and make repairs on equipment in the safest, most effective way possible to avoid downtime.

• Perform preventive maintenance and inspections on equipment.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
• Use hand and power tools; provide own mechanic tools.
• Work safely in a fast‑paced, changing-priority environment.
• Document work performed and maintain accurate service records.

• High school diploma or GED required; trade school or equivalent training desired.
• 3 to 5 years of mechanic experience with similar diesel equipment and/or heavy equipment or specialty lines equipment (large‑scale generators, pumps, HVAC, or oil & gas equipment) strongly preferred.
• Advanced knowledge of hydraulic systems and troubleshooting skills.
• Advanced knowledge of electrical systems and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to be flexible with changing priorities.
• Bilingual (Spanish or other) may be required based on location needs.

The role requires bending, squatting, crouching, reaching, and lifting 50 pounds or more, and working indoors/outdoors when required.
