Monday–Friday; 7:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m.

What You'll Do

Responsibilities of the Automotive Technology Instructor include, but are not limited to:

  • Delivering engaging, hands-on instruction in both classroom and lab settings.
  • Supporting student growth through mentoring, regular feedback, and individualized success planning.
  • Ensuring your curriculum stays current and aligned with real industry expectations.
  • Partnering with fellow instructors, administrators, and industry leaders to maintain a high-quality learning experience.
  • Leading by example in professionalism, safety, and workplace readiness.
  • Responsible for monitoring the use of supplies and equipment.
  • Developing working relationships with employers who hire or could potentially hire MTECH graduates.
  • Actively participating in program development, accreditation efforts, employer advisory committees, and campus-wide events.

What We're Looking For

We're seeking professionals who are passionate about teaching and committed to excellence. Successful candidates will have:

  • Education: A high school diploma or its equivalent, and 2 years of education in an accredited post-secondary Automotive Technology or related program.
  • Experience: Must have at least 3 years of experience in Automotive Technology.
  • Industry Credentials &

    Certifications:

    A minimum of 4 ASE certifications and, within 3 years of employment, must have 8 ASE certifications and Master Technician status.
  • Technical

    Skills:

    Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, etc.) and Google Suite tools (Docs, Sheets, Slides, etc.). Experience with Canvas and curriculum development is a plus.
  • Organizational Abilities: Strong skills in communication, time management, and organization to efficiently manage classroom and practical training responsibilities.
  • Attention to Detail: A keen ability to assess student performance, ensure industry standards are met, and maintain accurate records.
