Job Summary: Drives a school bus to transport students over specified routes according to schedule. Complies with all traffic regulations, ordinances, and the School Code of Conduct for Transportation.

• Drive a school bus safely and professionally.
• Perform and properly complete daily pre‑trip inspections.
• Comply with all traffic ordinances.
• Follow discipline policies set forth in the School Code of Conduct for Transportation.
• Participate in on‑site training.
• Show proficiency in handling, maneuvering, and managing students on a school bus.
• Maintain a clean school bus.
• Appropriately report maintenance repairs as needed.
• Complete and submit appropriate documentation such as student discipline reports, maintenance reports, pre‑trip forms, and student counts.
• Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.

• Obtain a Commercial Driver’s License.
• Pass State Skill Test and State Written Test.
• No points on driving record and pass a physical including a drug test.
• Hold a CDL Class B license with no air‑brake restriction and with P and S endorsements.

• Ability to work in a friendly manner with co‑workers and students.
• Ability to read and understand maps.
• Pass State Skill Test, State Written Test, Department of Transportation physical and MDE Basic Training Program.
• Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
• Perform duties with awareness of all district requirements and Board of Education policies.

• Work occasionally in temperatures above 100 °F and below 32 °F and on slippery surfaces.
• Meet deadlines with severe time constraints and interact with the public and other workers.
• Have direct responsibility for the safety and well‑being of others.
• Work in a frequently loud and chaotic environment.
• With a CDL, submit to pre‑employment and random drug and alcohol tests.

• Citizenship, residency, or work visa required.
