Assistant Principal Hebron Elementary School

Hebron Public Schools is seeking an exceptional educator to join our dynamic leadership team as the Assistant Principal at Hebron Elementary School. As a high-performing elementary district, we serve our community across two distinct schools:
Gilead Hill School and Hebron Elementary School. Under our unique leadership model, our Principal leads both schools with a visionary focus on teaching and learning, while our Assistant Principals drive day-to-day operations with a deep concentration on fostering a positive school culture and climate. Position:
Assistant Principal Hebron Elementary School

Salary: $125,000 - $140,000 (Based on the  Admin Contract, 205 Work Days)

Job Description

General:
Provide administrative and staff/student assistance of a confidential, complex and responsible nature to run the day-to-day operations of the school; interact with teachers and other school staff, students, parents/guardians, central office staff and the public; perform and/or supervise matters related to student assistance and support; school management and communication functions; provides leadership in the area of school culture and climate;

supervise and evaluate certified and non-certified staff. Performs administrative leadership and oversight for Preschool or district STEAMS Programming.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

Lead the day-to-day operations of the school Maintain the standards of student conduct; determine appropriate disciplinary procedures and practices in accordance with Federal, State of Connecticut and District policies and procedures Lead culture and climate work at the building level in collaboration with the Principal of Schools and Director of Educational Services Lead the development and implementation of a comprehensive social emotional learning curriculum Act as the Safe School Climate Specialist and serves on the district Wellness, Safe School Climate, and Safety and Security committees Lead the development and implementation of systems to monitor and improve student attendance to address student attendance concerns Lead the development and implementation of school security and safety practices consistent with district security plans and protocols;

ensure that school safety drills are held as required Provide direction, guidance and supervision at the school level to the embedded School Resource Officer (SRO) in collaboration with the Connecticut State Police and Town officials Provide routine classroom support to students and staff Supervise and evaluate certified and non-certified staff Participate in recruiting, screening, interviewing, and assignment of school staff Co-Lead the development and implementation of high-quality professional development program and for staff in collaboration with the Principal of Schools Conduct staff meeting to foster communication and ensure that direction, guidance and support is provided to staff In collaboration with the Director of Educational Services assist as appropriate in the oversight of delivery of special education and pupil services for students;

facilitate/participate in Planning and Placement Team (PPT) meetings when needed Lead school/student recognition programs Develop, implement, and participate in after-school/evening activities to foster student enrichment and family engagement along with other community or family-led activities to support positive school-home-community partnerships in collaboration with the Principal of Schools Assist in the annual budget process and oversight of approved school budgets Implement Board of Education policies and administrative procedures Supervise the preparation and submission of…
