OverviewThe Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for developing and executing advanced manufacturing processes to support complex and urgent production programs. This role plays a critical part in driving New Product Introduction (NPI), rapid prototyping, and end-to-end program execution. Working cross-functionally with engineering, operations, quality, and supply chain teams, the engineer ensures manufacturability, efficiency, and quality across a wide range of high-complexity assemblies.

- Develop and implement manufacturing processes for complex assemblies and urgent production programs.
- Lead New Product Introduction (NPI) efforts, including rapid prototyping and operations support.
- Support cross-functional planning to meet customer deadlines.
- Drive manufacturability reviews and process optimization for advanced forming, welding, machining, and other manufacturing applications.
- Program and validate CNC processes to support one-off and short-run production.
- Design, select, or implement tooling solutions that reduce process variability and accelerate lead times.
- Develop and maintain PFMEAs, FAI’s, and control plans to ensure robust process control and risk mitigation.
- Support quoting efforts by defining the manufacturing approach and establishing accurate time standards.
- Act as the technical liaison between operations and suppliers for special processes and subassemblies.
- Provide feedback and engineering support during design reviews and supplier sourcing decisions.
- Support capital justification, selection, and implementation of new equipment or processes as needed to expand capabilities. (Technology Roadmap)
- High-complexity fabrications, including multi-part assemblies and components requiring advanced forming, welding, machining, and special processes.
- End-to-end program ownership—from design support and supply chain coordination to production and quality assurance.
- Ability to manage large, technically complex projects under pressure and deliver results within condensed lead times.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum 3-5 years of hands-on experience in aerospace or precision sheet metal fabrication required.
- Experience in custom and complex sheet metal fabrication is strongly preferred.
- Advanced understanding of manufacturing processes, CNC programming, and fabrication equipment.
- Proficient in Solid Works (or equivalent CAD); capable of producing production-ready models and drawings.
- Familiarity with aerospace quality standards such as AS9100 and AS13100.
- Demonstrated understanding of design for manufacturability and modern technologies.
- Experience with automation, advanced manufacturing techniques, and emerging technologies preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact effectively at all levels of the organization.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) required.
