Service Plumber
This role involves installing, repairing, and maintaining plumbing systems and fixtures across residential, commercial, industrial, and municipal settings. You will diagnose issues in water, drainage, and gas systems, interpret technical documentation, and ensure all work complies with applicable plumbing codes and safety regulations. The position requires hands-on fieldwork, collaboration with various stakeholders, and the use of specialized tools to build and maintain reliable piping systems.
Responsibilities- Install, repair, and maintain pipes, fittings, valves, and plumbing fixtures in a variety of settings.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot issues in water, drainage, and gas systems to identify root causes and effective solutions.
- Interpret and work from blueprints, building codes, and technical diagrams to plan and execute plumbing installations and repairs.
- Ensure all plumbing work complies with local and state plumbing codes, standards, and safety regulations.
- Perform inspections of existing plumbing systems to identify potential hazards, leaks, inefficiencies, or code violations.
- Recommend and implement corrective actions to improve system performance, safety, and reliability.
- Collaborate with contractors, homeowners, building managers, and inspectors to coordinate work and ensure project requirements are met.
- Use specialized tools and equipment to cut, weld, thread, and assemble piping systems made from materials such as PVC and metal.
- Document work performed, including materials used and any issues encountered, to support accurate records and future maintenance.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean, safe, and organized condition.
- Proven experience in plumbing installation, repair, and maintenance across water, drainage, and gas systems.
- Strong knowledge of local and state plumbing codes and safety regulations.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, building plans, and technical diagrams.
- Proficiency with plumbing tools and equipment, including tools for cutting, welding, threading, and assembling piping systems.
- Hands-on experience working with PVC and other common piping materials.
- Ability to troubleshoot complex mechanical and hydraulic issues in a systematic and efficient manner.
- Physical stamina and manual dexterity to perform tasks such as lifting, bending, working in confined spaces, and standing for extended periods.
- Clear verbal communication skills to explain issues and solutions to customers and team members.
- Strong customer-service skills with a professional, respectful approach in occupied homes and active job sites.
- Attention to detail and commitment to performing safe, code-compliant work.
Skills & Qualifications
- Experience working in diverse environments such as residential, commercial, industrial, and municipal plumbing systems.
- Comfort using and maintaining a variety of hand and power tools specific to plumbing.
- Ability to work independently in the field, manage service calls, and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions on-site.
- Reliable transportation record suitable for operating a company vehicle, if assigned.

This role is field-based and involves working in a variety of locations, including homes and apartment buildings, commercial buildings such as restaurants, offices, and retail spaces, construction sites, industrial facilities, and municipal water and sewer systems. You will frequently work both indoors and outdoors, sometimes in tight or elevated spaces, and may encounter varying weather conditions and active job sites. The position requires regular use of plumbing tools and equipment for cutting, welding, threading, and assembling piping systems.
Work hours may vary depending on project schedules and service call demands, and you will often travel between different job locations using a company vehicle. Attire should be practical, professional, and suitable for construction and service environments, with appropriate safety gear used as required.
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Hebron, KY.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00/hr.
