RME Mechanical & Robotics Maintenance Technician II (Temporary)

This temporary Maintenance Technician II role focuses on supporting an operations maintenance team by repairing, maintaining, and improving material handling equipment and pneumatic systems within a high-volume facility. You install, maintain, and repair automated packaging and distribution equipment, ensuring that conveyors, robotics, and associated electrical and mechanical systems operate safely, efficiently, and with minimal downtime.

Responsibilities
  • Repair, maintain, and troubleshoot material handling equipment, including mechanical conveyor systems used in packaging and distribution operations.
  • Install, maintain, and repair automated packaging and distribution equipment to support continuous and reliable facility operations.
  • Diagnose and resolve issues in electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems, using appropriate tools and test equipment.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical documentation to perform accurate repairs and installations.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on equipment to reduce unplanned downtime and extend asset life.
  • Identify root causes of equipment failures and implement corrective actions to improve reliability and performance.
  • Assist with PLC-related troubleshooting by identifying basic control issues and collaborating on solutions as needed.
  • Follow established safety procedures and maintenance standards while working on live equipment and systems.
  • Document maintenance work, repairs, and parts usage in accordance with facility procedures.
  • Collaborate with operations and maintenance team members to prioritize work orders and support production goals.
Essential Skills
  • Hands-on experience repairing and maintaining mechanical conveyor systems in an industrial or distribution environment.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills for electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams.
  • Experience performing preventive maintenance on material handling and automated equipment.
  • Working knowledge of basic PLC troubleshooting concepts and control system components.
  • Understanding of industrial safety practices when working with electrical and mechanical equipment.
  • Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment to perform repairs and maintenance tasks.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow technical procedures accurately.

Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience working with automated packaging and distribution equipment in a warehouse or manufacturing environment.
  • Familiarity with robotics and automated material handling systems.
  • Comfort working with pneumatic and hydraulic components, including cylinders, valves, and pumps.

Environment

This role is based in a fast-paced automated facility that uses conveyors, robotics, and other material handling systems to support packaging and distribution operations. You work primarily on the floor in and around equipment, which may involve standing for extended periods, working at heights or in confined areas, and handling tools and components. The environment includes exposure to moving machinery, noise, and typical warehouse or industrial conditions, with appropriate safety procedures and protective equipment in place.

Work hours may include shift-based schedules aligned with operational needs, and attire is typically practical workwear suitable for an industrial setting, along with required safety gear.

This is a Contract position based out of Hebron, KY.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $32.50 - $32.50/hr individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
