Job Description

We’re looking for a dependable and detail-oriented Buyer to support procurement operations across MPW by sourcing materials, equipment, and services that keep field and operational teams running efficiently. This role requires strong organization, communication, and problem-solving skills in a fast-paced environment where priorities can shift quickly.

What You’ll Do
  • Solicit vendor quotes and evaluate bids to secure the best combination of price, quality, delivery, and service.
  • Create and process purchase requisitions using accurate information provided by field and operational personnel.
  • Generate purchase orders and ensure all procurement documentation is complete and accurate.
  • Monitor purchase orders through completion and provide follow-up with vendors as needed.
  • Investigate and resolve purchase order discrepancies, delivery issues, and invoicing concerns.
  • Coordinate resolution of material returns, damaged goods, overages, shortages, and quality concerns.
  • Maintain purchasing records, databases, files, and vendor documentation in accordance with company standards.
  • Assist with inventory and procurement reporting, tracking, and analysis as required.
  • Participate in assigned projects and support cross-functional operational initiatives.
  • Communicate with internal departments to support purchasing needs and maintain workflow efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with company purchasing policies, procedures, and ethical business practices.
  • Support departmental goals and contribute to continuous process improvement initiatives.
  • Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
What You’ll Need
  • Associate degree in Business, Purchasing, Supply Chain, or related field preferred; equivalent experience may be considered.
  • Minimum of 4 years of purchasing experience in MRO, indirect materials, manufacturing, or job-shop environments.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook; advanced Excel skills such as pivot tables and VLOOKUP preferred.
  • Experience working within ERP systems required; JD Edwards experience preferred.
  • Strong problem-solving, organizational, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to sit, stand, and work at a computer workstation for extended periods throughout the workday.
  • Ability to occasionally lift or move office materials and supplies up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to maintain focus and productivity while working in a fast-paced office environment with changing priorities.
