Responsibilities
  • Assist in laying out, assembling, and tack welding pipe components per blueprints and job specifications.
  • Perform basic Stick Welding (SMAW) tasks under supervision.
  • Interpret and follow blueprints, isometric drawings, and work orders.
  • Support production demands by preparing materials and maintaining workflow.
  • Maintain work area cleanliness and organization in compliance with safety standards.
  • Work in shop environments with exposure to high temperatures in summer and cold conditions in winter.
  • Ensure proper use of PPE and follow all shop safety rules and procedures.
  • Communicate with supervisors and team leads to ensure proper task execution and timeline adherence.
Qualifications
  • Basic proficiency in Stick Welding (SMAW) is required.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and job specifications.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and hands‑on skill.
  • Dependable, safety‑conscious, and team‑oriented.
  • Willingness to learn and grow within a tiered skill development system.
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts, weekends, or on‑call assignments as required.
Experience & Skills

Pay is based on experience.

Technician I
  • 0–2 years of pipe fitting or related pipe fitting experience. Entry‑level role; prior exposure to welding or fabrication is helpful but not required.
  • Basic knowledge of hand, power tools, cutting torches and welding (Stick/Mig Welding).
  • Strong willingness to learn welding and pipe fitting.
Technician II
  • 2–4 years of industrial pipe fitting experience or equivalent training.
  • Working knowledge of hand, power tools, cutting torches and welding (Stick/Mig Welding).
  • Ability to troubleshoot equipment with limited supervision.
Technician III
  • 4–6 years of industrial maintenance experience or equivalent certification.
  • Strong knowledge of hand, power tools, cutting torches and welding (Stick/Mig).
  • Demonstrated leadership and mentoring capability.
Physical Demands
  • Lift/carry: sedentary up to 10 lbs; light up to 20 lbs; medium up to 50 lbs regularly.
  • Raise/lower or move objects horizontally.
  • Frequent wrist/hand motions.
  • Respond quickly to sounds.
  • Move safely over uneven terrain or in confined spaces.
  • Visual acuity required for accuracy and thoroughness of work.
  • Kneeling and bending for extended periods.
  • Standing/walking for more than 90% of shift, including long distances.
  • Work in extreme weather.
Work Environment
  • Comfortable working in fabrication shop environments with heat, cold, and exposure to industrial equipment.
  • Indoor fabrication shop with variable temperatures and noise levels.
  • Exposure to welding equipment, fumes, dust, and heavy materials.
  • Required use of PPE including safety glasses, gloves, steel‑toed boots, hearing protection, and dust masks as required.
  • Occasional overtime or extended hours based on production needs.
Education
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
