Plastipak Packaging, Inc. seeks a Manufacturing Production Supervisor to lead safe, efficient operations in a high-volume rigid plastic packaging facility. You will oversee shift production teams, coordinate schedules, allocate labor, and ensure adherence to quality, safety, and GMP standards. Responsibilities include monitoring line performance, troubleshooting equipment and process issues, driving OEE improvements, and minimizing scrap and downtime. You'll coach and develop employees, conduct performance reviews, support training, and champion continuous improvement, Lean, and 5S initiatives to meet customer, cost, and sustainability goals in a fast-paced, global environment.
Responsibilities
- Supervise daily production operations to meet safety, quality, and output targets
- Plan and adjust staffing, schedules, and line assignments for optimal efficiency
- Monitor equipment and line performance, addressing issues to reduce downtime and scrap
- Ensure compliance with safety, GMP, and quality standards and conduct safety audits
- Lead, coach, and develop production team members, including training and performance feedback
- Implement and support Lean, 5
- S, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Track and report production metrics, variances, and root cause analysis
- Coordinate with maintenance, quality, and planning to meet customer requirements
- Support implementation of new processes, equipment, and packaging technologies
- Promote a culture of innovation, accountability, and teamwork on the production floor
