Facilities Maintenance Technician

Plastipak Packaging, Inc. seeks a Facilities Maintenance Technician to support safe, reliable operation of our manufacturing plant. Responsibilities include troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining building systems, production support equipment, HVAC, compressors, utilities, and lighting. You will perform preventive and predictive maintenance, diagnose mechanical and basic electrical issues, read blueprints and manuals, and coordinate with production to minimize downtime. The role supports continuous improvement, safety, and 5S, maintains maintenance records in a CMMS, and works with outside contractors while following all OSHA and company safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair facility and production support equipment
• Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on building systems and utilities
• Maintain HVAC, compressors, pumps, and lighting systems
• Diagnose mechanical and basic electrical issues using hand and power tools
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and equipment manuals
• Use CMMS to document work orders, maintenance records, and parts usage
• Support safety programs, OSHA compliance, and 5
• S/continuous improvement initiatives
• Coordinate maintenance activities with production to minimize downtime
• Assist with installation, relocation, and upgrade of equipment and utilities
• Work with outside vendors and contractors as needed
