The Montana Board of Investments is seeking an Investment Accountant to support daily investment accounting, reconciliations, fiscal year-end work, and financial reporting for significant public investment and trust assets. This role offers meaningful public-service impact, technically challenging accounting work, and the opportunity to contribute to the accuracy and integrity of Montana’s investment operations.

BOI is open to considering a training assignment for candidates who recently completed a bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field, including students who graduated this May. This pathway is intended for candidates with strong academic preparation and potential to develop into full performance in investment accounting through structured learning, coaching, and progressively complex assignments.

Qualifications- Bachelor’s Degree in a Finance, Accounting, or related field plus 4 or more years of related experience. Alternative combinations of education and experience may be considered.
- CPA or CPA candidate strongly preferred.
- Successful completion of a background check.
