OverviewJob Overview:
Under the direct supervision of the MT WILD Program Manager, the Visitor and Events Coordinator (Coordinator) is primarily responsible for greeting visitors at the Montana WILD front desk. This involves creating a welcoming, well-organized, and customer service-oriented atmosphere from the moment people enter the building. This position staffs the front desk, arranges front desk coverage with volunteers and other staff, oversees the exhibit hall, classroom, and auditorium, and develops on-site educational activities for the classroom and exhibit hall.
This position also coordinates or assists in the coordination of all Montana WILD Education Center events, including school visits, outside group visits, public programs, and meeting room bookings. Coordination involves managing the Montana WILD calendar, creating school schedules, liaising with teachers and outside organizations, managing meeting room bookings, providing AV support as-needed, and registering participants for public events. This position administers the Montana WILD Travel Grant which reimburses outlying schools for a portion of their travel to Montana WILD for field trips.
This position also assists with planning for and delivery of public programs, events, and school programs.
Position entails lifting heavy education trunks and other materials. Must be able to lift 50lbs. Incumbent must be able to work in adverse weather conditions for extended periods of time to deliver education programs.
The employee is regularly required to stand, sit, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer and telephone. May sit for extended periods. Some travel and extra work hours are required. The incumbent may also encounter periodic stressful occurrences.

The knowledge, skills, and abilities of this position are normally attained through combination of a high school diploma and 3 years’ experience. Other combinations of education and experience will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

Schedule:
Onsite Monday - Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm (This position is not eligible for remote work).
