Position Summary
Our Casper, Wyoming office is currently seeking an experienced Legal Administrative Assistant. The Legal Administrative Assistant works closely with attorneys and legal professionals in a collaborative environment. This position will provide direct support to assigned attorneys and is responsible for performing a variety of administrative and clerical support tasks to ensure high-quality service and efficient day-to-day operations.
Key Responsibilities- Compiles, proofs, and revises legal documents, contracts, briefs, motions, and pleadings as assigned.
- Files and maintains electronic and non-electronic case files.
- Opens and closes case files.
- Retrieves information as requested from records, files, and other related documents.
- Prepares written summaries of data when needed.
- Schedules meetings, conferences, and depositions.
- Maintains attorneys’ calendars with appointments, court appearances, and other deadlines as requested.
- Responds to and resolves administrative inquiries and questions.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- Strong customer service and interpersonal skills to communicate effectively and professionally with all levels of personnel and external clients.
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality of client and firm information.
- Understanding and implementation of general rules of ethical behavior applicable to legal personnel.
- Capability to work collaboratively within a team and independently.
- Willingness to learn new skills as technology evolves.
- Excellent attention to detail, with follow‑up on projects and deliverables.
- Ability to develop and apply comprehensive planning and organizing strategies to prioritize tasks and utilize resources effectively.
- Ability to work under tight deadlines, handle multiple detailed tasks, and anticipate when help will be needed.
- Flexibility to respond quickly and positively to shifting demands and opportunities.
- Capability to work effectively in a multi‑office and culturally diverse environment.
- Clear and informative writing, with editing for spelling and grammar, adaptation of communication style, and effective presentation of numerical data.
- Clear and persuasive speaking, active listening, and responsiveness to questions in group settings.
- Responsibility for work activities and personal actions, with follow‑through on commitments and acknowledgment of learning from mistakes.
- Independent formulation of sound decisions and selection of effective courses of action using available information.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of three years of experience in an administrative role preferred.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe, and other similar software.
- Must be able to read, comprehend, and follow written and verbal instructions.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times.
