Position Overview

As a Business Analyst with the Workforce Services Division, you won’t just analyze systems, you’ll lead efforts that shape how Montanans experience their workforce services every day. You’ll lead complex projects that cut across programs, working closely with program staff, technology teams, and community partners to turn real world needs into clear solutions. In this role, you’ll connect projects to the division’s top priorities, look ahead to spot risks and impacts across related business areas and support teams from early concept, through implementation and evaluation.

Essential Functions
  • Turn complex ideas into clear action by analyzing workforce programs, business processes, and system interactions across multiple teams, and helping design solutions that make it easier for Montanans to find and use services.
  • Make complex, multi program work understandable by creating clear, user friendly documentation of requirements, workflows, decisions, and business cases that help diverse teams stay aligned and move forward with confidence, further sharpening your communication, documentation, and facilitation abilities.
  • Serve as a key problem solver and point of contact by coordinating with program staff, State IT, leadership, vendors, and other partners to plan and carry out system and process changes, especially for high‑visibility or cross‑program efforts.
  • Connect the big picture to daily work by helping align technology, operations, funding, and policy so that changes make sense for staff and customers across multiple programs and platforms.
