Position OverviewAs a Business Analyst with the Workforce Services Division, you won’t just analyze systems, you’ll lead efforts that shape how Montanans experience their workforce services every day. You’ll lead complex projects that cut across programs, working closely with program staff, technology teams, and community partners to turn real world needs into clear solutions. In this role, you’ll connect projects to the division’s top priorities, look ahead to spot risks and impacts across related business areas and support teams from early concept, through implementation and evaluation.

- By working closely with program experts, IT, vendors, and community partners, you’ll build strong collaboration and facilitation skills and gain confidence navigating high visibility projects with many different perspectives.
- As you plan, test, and roll out new or improved systems and processes, you’ll strengthen your analytical, quality assurance, and change management skills, preparing you for future leadership opportunities in policy, technology, or operations.
- Through ongoing monitoring, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement, you’ll develop a solid command of workforce programs, data, and performance measures and learn how to use evidence to drive decisions and show results.
- Leading documentation efforts, workshops, and user‑focused communications will grow your writing, public speaking, and training skills, positioning you as a trusted resource who can make complex concepts clear for any audience.

- Make complex, multi program work understandable by creating clear, user friendly documentation of requirements, workflows, decisions, and business cases that help diverse teams stay aligned and move forward with confidence, further sharpening your communication, documentation, and facilitation abilities.
- Serve as a key problem solver and point of contact by coordinating with program staff, State IT, leadership, vendors, and other partners to plan and carry out system and process changes, especially for high‑visibility or cross‑program efforts.
- Connect the big picture to daily work by helping align technology, operations, funding, and policy so that changes make sense for staff and customers across multiple programs and platforms.
