A well-established Montana contractor is adding a Civil Project Manager to support and grow its specialized civil construction portfolio. This is a key role for a company that has built a strong reputation delivering complex municipal infrastructure projects across the state.

In this role, you’ll take ownership of civil projects from early pursuit through closeout—helping evaluate which jobs to pursue, supporting bidding efforts, and leading execution in the field. You’ll manage schedules, budgets, and coordination with engineers, municipalities, inspectors, and internal teams throughout the life of each project.

The position focuses on infrastructure including treatment facilities, pump houses, piping systems, and supporting civil scopes. Projects typically run six to twelve months and range from mid- to large-scale municipal work, providing consistency and technical depth rather than short-duration commodity projects.

Day to day, you’ll balance project oversight with hands-on involvement: monitoring progress, supporting superintendents, reviewing budgets and WIP, and ensuring projects stay on track while maintaining strong relationships with clients and project partners.

• Take full ownership of civil construction projects from pursuit through closeout
• Participate in evaluating and selecting municipal projects that align with company strengths
• Manage schedules, budgets, invoicing, and WIP for long-duration civil projects
• Oversee water and wastewater treatment facilities, pump stations, piping, and related infrastructure
• Coordinate closely with civil engineers, municipalities, inspectors, and regulatory agencies
• Support and collaborate with superintendents and field leadership to ensure smooth execution
• Use project management software to track budgets, documentation, RFIs, and reporting
• Partner with company leadership on project planning, staffing, and workload management
• Identify risks, challenges, and cost exposures early and proactively address them
• Maintain strong client relationships throughout construction and closeout
• Travel to project sites as needed to support progress meetings and inspections
• Support long-term growth of the civil division through consistent project delivery
• Help reinforce a culture of accountability, quality, and professionalism across civil projects

• 6+ years of experience in civil construction project management
• Background in municipal water, wastewater, or utility infrastructure projects
• Strong understanding of civil project schedules, budgets, and field coordination
• Comfort using project management platforms such as Procore or similar systems
• Ability to manage multiple stakeholders calmly and professionally
• Self-directed work style with minimal need for oversight
• Interest in long-term growth within a stable, Montana-based contractor

• Based in Helena, MT; limited travel to project sites as needed
• Salary: $90–110K DOE + profit sharing bonus ($8k-13k)
