General Education Para Educator

Helena School District # 1 has an opening for a full-time 7 hours per school day General Education Para Educator. The position is presently assigned to Capital High School and is assigned to the In School Suspension (ISS) Classroom. As a General Education Para Educator, you contribute to this mission by assisting students individually and in small groups.

You will work as part of a team of 160 serving 8,000 students at 18 campuses across Helena. Some of what you will do:
Assists with individual and small group pupil instruction; tutors pupils at teachers' request. Assists in maintaining discipline and other functions. Assist with attendance and related clerical matters. May escort students to and from various rooms.

To become part of this dedicated team, you need:
Associate's degree or higher Two years of study at an institute of higher education (no degree) Successful completion of PASS course Willing to complete PASS course At least three (3) months of related experience and/or training;
Or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience as determined by the District. Essential functions of the position include the ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 40 pounds with or without a reasonable accommodation. Entry level salary range is $15.45- $18.98 per hour depending on education level and applicable relevant work experience as determined by the District.
