Pellucent, a diverse and results‑oriented academic organization, is seeking a qualified Mathematics Instructor for the Adult Education Department to provide foundational and secondary‑level mathematics instruction to adult learners. The role includes GED preparation, curriculum design, and data‑driven instruction aligned with state standards.
Summary ofJob Duties
- Provide instruction in arithmetic, fractions, decimals, ratios, algebra, geometry, and data analysis.
- Prepare students for attaining their GED.
- Develop lesson plans aligned with state adult education standards and measurable learning objectives.
- Incorporate contextualized instruction such as math for workforce, financial literacy, or college readiness.
- Utilize varied instructional strategies including direct instruction, collaborative learning, and technology‑assisted learning.
- Use assessment data to inform instructional adjustments.
- Support diverse learners and students with learning differences.
- Provide academic advising related to math achievement goals.
- Promote retention through engagement strategies and culturally responsive teaching practices.
- Maintain attendance and performance documentation.
- Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and program evaluation activities.
- Collaborate with workforce partners, counselors, and program administrators.
- Ensure compliance with adult education policies and funding requirements.
- Apply knowledge of adult learning theory, instructional technology, learning management systems, classroom management, and communication skills.
- Engage in instructional design and curriculum alignment and data‑driven decision making.
- Minimum:
Bachelor’s degree and a valid Arkansas Teacher’s License or Master’s degree in an academic subject. - Preferred: 2‑5 years of teaching experience.
$25 per hour.
