AgCorps members with a focus on education are generally serving in k-12 schools or non-profits with a strong emphasis on agricultural education. There is also the possibility of assisting with Ag-focused summer camps and events. Most members are utilizing a Farm to School, Ag in the Classroom, or Harvest of the Month curriculum. Specific position duties vary depending on host site location.

Member Duties- Implement lesson plans connecting schools and local farmers
- Assist with Farm to School and Ag in the Classroom activities
- Lead educational field trips for elementary school classrooms
- Teach lessons and provide assistnace in school gardens
- Provide Ag focused lessons to youth throughout the summer
- Plan and implement educational Harvest of the Month cooking lessons
- Conduct noxious weeds education in schools across the state
- Ability to serve community members of different socioeconomic backgrounds
- Knowledge base of food systems and local agriculture is a plus
- Previous experience educating children and adults is a plus
- Ability to be on your feet for long periods of time
- Basic gardening, cooking, and agricultural skills a plus
- Willingness to work outdoors in all conditions
- Attendance to mandatory trainings and participation in evaluation and reporting is a requirement.
