Position: Electrical Systems and Rack Integration Engineer. Job in Helena Lily Lifestyle Jobs

Job Description

As data centers strive for higher compute density and power efficiency, the role of a rack‑level electrical integration engineer is critical. This position is vital in ensuring seamless integration of new hardware platforms with OCI's power infrastructure while providing essential telemetry and electrical insights for operating expansive compute environments.

Responsibilities Rack‑Level Electrical Architecture & Integration
  • Design and define rack‑level electrical architectures that support advanced, high‑density computing platforms.
  • Transform hardware electrical requirements into deployable rack specifications that are compatible with OCI's data center power framework.
  • Outline integration needs for critical rack electrical components, including power shelves, rPDUs, busbars, cabling, and high‑current connectors.
  • Establish models for rack‑level power distribution, ensure redundancy, and define protection parameters in collaboration with data center electrical teams.
  • Engage in design reviews with hardware engineering teams to confirm that new platforms align with OCI's rack standards.
Hardware Power Characterization & Validation
  • Define and facilitate electrical characterization testing for new IT hardware platforms.
  • Create testing methodologies to assess power consumption, transient load behavior, and electrical compatibility with rack power setups.
  • Guarantee that characterization data aligns with rack design specifications, aids capacity planning, and supports infrastructure development.
  • Collaborate with lab teams and vendors to validate electrical performance prior to release.
Electrical Telemetry & Cross‑Functional Systems Integration
  • Set requirements for advanced rack‑level power telemetry and instrumentation.
  • Work closely with software and data engineering teams, ensuring telemetry from power shelves, rPDUs, and hardware sensors is accessible and functional at fleet scale.
  • Act as the electrical domain expert within DCEAM, collaborating across hardware engineering, facilities engineering, and operations teams.
  • Assist in developing rack standards and electrical interface specifications to ensure consistency in global deployments.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • At least 7 years of experience in electrical engineering related to data center infrastructure, hardware platforms, or high‑density power systems.
  • Deep knowledge of:
    • Rack‑level power distribution architectures
    • High‑current electrical systems
    • Power supply or power shelf designs
    • Electrical reliability and various failure modes
  • Experience with data center power infrastructure, including an understanding of electrical one‑line diagrams, UPS designs, and transformer‑based power distribution.
  • Skill in authoring technical specifications, requirements, or engineering standards.
  • Ability to convert complex technical requirements into accessible engineering documentation.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in supporting high‑density AI or GPU compute platforms (greater than 40 kW racks).
  • Knowledge of data center power quality metrics, including ITHD and related electrical quality considerations.
  • Familiarity with AC/DC power supply input stage design or power electronics integration.
  • Awareness of emerging technologies such as solid‑state transformers or advanced power conversion systems.
  • Understanding of AI training workloads and their implications on power requirements at the data center or grid level.
  • Experience collaborating with hardware ODMs, OEMs, or rack integrators.
  • Knowledge of hyperscale rack standards, including ORv3 or Open Compute designs.
