Pay range: $72,000 to $135,200 per year

About this position:
The Engineer will be responsible for providing technical support for the Gas Transmission and Storage Department. This Engineer will be involved in a variety of different areas associated with gas transmission and storage including planning, design, construction and field support for compression, pipelines, control equipment, cathodic protection, measurement & regulation, field operations, construction/maintenance and gas processing.

About this job:
- Engineer will provide engineering design, construction & project management support and subject matter consulting
- Responsibility will be based upon experience and qualifications
- Familiar with 49 Code of Federal Regulation related to gas part 192
- Function as project engineer for natural gas facilities such as pipelines, measurement & regulation stations, compressor stations or gas treatment equipment
- Engineer will perform economic evaluations, develop budget items and evaluate new products and services
- Effectively communicate and coordinate with other functional areas to plan, budget and successfully execute projects and initiatives with expected outcomes
- Responsible to ensure all materials and compliance related actions for projects are documented and retained as required
- Time will be spent in an office environment with exposure to field environment, and project oversight during design and construction.
- Job is spent in both field and office with exposure to all field hazards and weather
- Perform individual lifts and carries supplies up to 35 pounds
- Travel and extended hours may be required, up to 50% travel
- For candidates not based in Butte, regular onsite presence in Butte will be required a minimum of two days per week during the training period. After training is complete, management will reassess the minimum onsite attendance requirement

- Demonstrate and maintain a good safety record, positive safety attitude, and safety awareness
- Bachelors Degree in Engineering required (Mechanical, Civil or relevant discipline preferred)
- 5+ years of similar experience preferred
- Detail orientated personality with situational awareness is required
- Ability and willingness to obtain a Professional Engineer's License in Montana is preferred
- Good organizational skills and have the ability to handle multiple conflicting tasks or projects and stressful situations.
- Excellent computer, communication and technical writing skills
- Self-motivated and be able to work independently in a team environment
- Valid Montana driver's license or the ability to obtain one is required
- Possess strong interpersonal communication skills
