The OpportunityJoin our Examinations Bureau as an entry-level Financial Examiner I – Captive Insurance Analyst that plays an important role in overseeing Montana’s captive insurance industry. You’ll help ensure financial stability, compliance, and continued growth of this innovative and fast-moving sector. This position is based in beautiful Helena, Montana.

What You’ll DoAs a Captive Insurance Analyst, you will:
- Analyze financial data of Montana-domiciled captive insurance companies to identify potential risks.
- Review applications and business plans to ensure compliance and assess solvency impacts.
- Facilitate formations and dissolutions by working closely with the CSI Legal Department and company representatives.
- Review business plan changes
, including dividend and loan requests. - Provide input and recommendations for insurance-related legislation and regulations.
- Manage data and prepare reports
, identifying key trends and insights. - Deliver excellent customer service
, representing the Montana Captive Insurance Program nationally. - Pursue professional growth by attending conferences, training events, and developing industry expertise.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field.
- One to three years of related work experience.
- Alternate combinations of education and experience may be considered.
- A training assignment may be offered to the right candidate.
- Experience in captive insurance or regulatory work.
- Willingness to pursue an Associate in Captive Insurance (ACI) designation through the International Center for Captive Insurance Education.
- Other professional credentials or insurance regulatory designations are a plus.
- Strong understanding of financial statements and analytical reporting.
- Ability to interpret and apply Montana statutes and administrative rules.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Professionalism, integrity, and strong interpersonal skills.
- Customer-focused with exceptional attention to detail and time management.
