Job SummaryThis position is responsible for answering the telephone, assisting customers with inquiries regarding their accounts, and for other customer services that contribute to favorable customer relations and efficient operations. This position is also responsible for presenting and cross‑selling the bank’s financial products and services, utilizing the principles of the CARE program and operating within the policies, procedures and guidelines established by the Bank, as well as all applicable laws and regulations.
This position is also responsible for soliciting and originating consumer loans with an emphasis on the building of banking relationships and is also responsible for monitoring and controlling loans and assisting borrowers throughout the process. This position is responsible for providing senior sales, servicing and administrative support to business development and loan officers in preparation of prospecting, sales and loan documentation, maintenance of loan, deposit and prospect files and assistance to customers with bank account, opening new accounts, product or service inquiries, problem resolution and the cross‑selling of bank products and services, all within the policies, objectives and guidelines established by the bank.
This position is also responsible for the origination, servicing and collection of commercial, consumer and real estate loans and the solicitation and development of additional customers to the Bank. Each Junior Lender Trainee will be assigned some or all of the following duties, as determined by Branch location:
Job Responsibilities:

- Serve customers at a window or desk and process a variety of over‑the‑counter, telephone or mailed transactions, including, but not limited to: personal and commercial deposits; night drop deposits; change orders; check cashing; savings withdrawals; account transfers; sale of money orders, cashier’s checks and prepaid cards; loan payments. Perform transactions based on multiple factors, including the customer’s relationship and history with the bank, established policy and procedure, and applicable laws and regulations.
Refer questionable or suspicious transactions, deposits that may require a hold, or any transactions exceeding limits, to the Branch Retail Manager or Market President for review. - Ensure established dual control procedures are followed and all required documentation is accurate and complete. Follow all internal policies and procedures, and all pertinent laws and regulations, including but not limited to:
Bank Secrecy Act (CTRs/SARs/OFAC);
Customer Identification Program (CIP);
Regulation CC (Funds Availability);
Regulation DD (Truth‑in‑Savings) and Regulation E (Electronic Funds Transfers). - Balance individual cash drawer daily. Maintain authorized cash level through the sale or purchase of cash from the vault or Electronic Cash Recycler (ECR). Report, investigate and correct all balancing errors and process over/short tickets on day of error. Scan daily work through branch capture machine to encode, balance and correct transactions. Mail deposit corrections to customer as appropriate.
- Balance vault cash daily in dual control; balance branch cash daily (individual, vault, coin machine, ATM and ECR). Ensure corrections are made appropriately and timely. Order/sell cash or coin through Federal Reserve, maintaining dual control cash verification; coordinate armored car transportation.
