Personal Financial Counselor- Helena, MT

This position will provide personal financial services at assigned military installations. The primary responsibilities include the full breadth of personal financial counseling services to military service members and their families at military installations.

• Provide one‑on‑one counseling and consultation with commanders or other service providers.
• Conduct briefings and presentations related to financial services.
• Provide referral resources to participants outside the context of a counseling session.
• Assist service members in establishing a spending plan during extended absences.
• Develop and make available informational financial materials to service members and families.
• Coordinate, publicize, and provide a wide variety of Personal Financial Management classes/workshops on topics across the military lifecycle.
• Respond to requests for age‑appropriate classes or seminars.
• Utilize virtual counseling or other electronic modes of communication such as web‑based, secure online chat, or video‑based communications and secure video teleconference.
• Manage duty‑to‑warn situations according to Department of Defense protocol.
• Communicate with leadership and participate in regular individual and group supervision, sharing information regarding trends and issues on the installations.
• Participate in regular in‑services/training, quality improvement committees or other contract activities as assigned or appropriate.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.

• Bachelor’s degree required; associate degree plus 4 years of experience, or high school diploma plus 6 years of experience may be considered.
• 3+ years of financial counseling experience.
• Must be a U.S. citizen and speak fluent English; bilingual in English and Spanish if required by contract.
• Must be able to obtain a favorably adjudicated Tier2 investigation.
• Must be able to pass the Congressionally Mandated Disclosures for Organizational Conflicts of Interest (OCI) process.
• Must have one of the following certifications:
  Accredited Financial Counselor (AFC), Certified Financial Planner (CFP), or Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC).

  Bachelor’s degree (preferred); associate degree plus experience or high school diploma plus experience considered.

• Driver’s License:
  Valid in state (optional).

Salary Range: $58,440–$93,500 (baseline; may vary by location and experience). This position may also be eligible for short‑term incentives and a comprehensive benefits package.
