Montana Department of Corrections (DOC) is creating a safer Montana through Accountability, Rehabilitation, and Empowerment. The Director’s Office provides critical support to the department’s executive team through communications, financial services, legal services, and human resources. This role is part of the Office of Innovation, serving as Co‑Lead of the Compass Project and the primary point of contact for Compass change requests.
Responsibilities- Assist in daily meetings with the vendor and subject matter experts to ensure the new offender management system captures business needs across the Agency.
- Support project planning and implementation activities; act as a business analyst for change requests, including input on change control and implementation budgets.
- Lead Compass training for DOC, coordinating statewide travel, trainer scheduling, training development, delivery, and staff readiness following system updates.
- Collaborate with program partners, the policy unit, and subject matter experts to ensure Compass system functionality aligns with program requirements and that policies accurately reflect the Compass program.
- 2 years of related experience, or alternative combinations of education and experience considered on a case‑by‑case basis.
- Strong analytical, communication, and project coordination skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
