Job Summary
The Outreach Business Office Informaticist supports the mission of the St. Peter’s Health organization, the SPMG and its affiliates as required. Supports the Outreach Business Office (OBO), Clinicians and the Departments of Nursing and Allied Health through continuous maintenance of the Outreach Business Office software applications including coordination of program areas or special projects that contribute to the provision of exceptional and compassionate health care.
The role of the Outreach Business Office Informaticist is to plan, design, develop, and launch efficient Laboratory, Diagnostic Imaging, and Outreach information systems and operations systems in support of core organizational functions. This individual will apply proven communication, analytical and problem-solving skills to help identify, communicate and resolve application issues in order to maximize the benefit of informatics applications and systems investments.
Serves as an informatics resource supporting all Outreach Services roles throughout the care continuum (as assigned) in the specialty of Outreach, Laboratory, and/or Diagnostic Imaging Informatics. Responsible for working as a contributing member of the interdisciplinary team which makes up the Outreach Business Office with the focus on achievement of team goals and end user satisfaction. Plans and designs clinical and business solutions and utilizes resources to meet the strategic goals and objectives of St.
Peter’s Health and its clients as required. Facilitates and coordinates the integration of data, information, professional knowledge and systems to support improved productivity, decision making and quality outcomes for our end users. Utilizes Laboratory Information System (LIS), Informatics, Outreach, and Diagnostic Service experience and knowledge to design systems that facilitate Outreach Business practice, improve safety, promote best practice and facilitate patient care.
Performs as an educational resource for diagnostic services, physicians, nurses, and other health care providers/teams who utilize the systems. The Outreach Business Office Informaticist will complete other assignments based on ability or need.
Three years' experience as a clinical lab scientist/medical lab technician as a generalist in a hospital setting and/or three years' experience in radiographic procedures. Two years of computer technical school and/or two years’ experience working directly in computer field desired. Background with applicable EMR, LIS and Diagnostic Services systems desired.
EducationGraduation from an approved MLT/CLS program and/or School of Diagnostic Imaging Technology is required. Bachelor’s degree in science is preferred. Meets CLIA Criteria for testing personnel or comparable certification in Diagnostic Imaging.
License/Certification/RegistryTechnical National and State Licensure in one or more respective disciplines within Laboratory and/or current registry with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist in one or more modalities.
