Program Officer

The Montana Department of Public Health and Human Services (DPHHS) has a career opportunity within the Public Health and Safety Division in Helena.

This position is responsible for developing and administrating statewide and local licensing programs, including program development and individualized program planning, management, and evaluation. This position is also responsible for coordinating outreach, training, and related functions in support of ongoing program operations and activities.

• Ability to identify, analyze, and interpret data.
• Knowledge of accounting and bookkeeping procedures.
• Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
• Meet minimum qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, or public health related field.
  • Three years of job-related experience.
  • Other combinations of related education and experience may be considered on a case‑by‑case basis.

This position may be eligible for partial telework within the state of Montana. Specific conditions will be provided by the supervisor and must adhere to state policy.

This position may be eligible for a statutory $1.00 an hour base pay increase effective July 1, 2026.
